Storage - 53 Years | Reversing My Sister's Cancer

When Alex and I decided to revisit our adventures, we thought about asking Wanda if she would like to come along with us. At first it was just a way for us to spend time together before the end. But then a thought occured to me. This would be a perfect opportunity to try to reverse the cancer growth.

Wanda and Judy - August 13, 2005

This is a picture of my sister Wanda (on the left), and my sister Judy (on the right). The picture was taken on August 13, 2005, about a week after Judy was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer. Judy died August 28, 2006, living almost exactly the amount of time the doctors said she would, provided she received treatment.

Judy was fortunate enough to have very good insurance. She had her choice of doctors and hospitals. She also had her family and her wonderful friends to lean on. Her cancer was too advanced for surgery, and had spread to her brain, so she chose chemotherapy and radiation to extend the amount of time she had. The year flew by and before we knew what hit us, Judy was gone.

Wanda was diagnosed with throat cancer in April, 2008.

Wanda doesn't have insurance and she lives away from her family. No one is there to help her and even if they could help her, Wanda is extremely stubborn about what she wants to do. At first the doctors considered admitting her to the Cancer Treatment Center in Oklahoma City. Hers is a rare form of cancer and would be good for clinical trials and research. After considering her less than desirable lifestyle and her less than cooperative manner, they declined to accept her.

She decided early on that she would not have surgery to remove the tumors. After the initial biopsies, she learned that even a small amount of cutting could cause the cancer to spread quicker. Our uncle only lived a year after his surgery for throat cancer. She could also be left with a feeding tube and an artificial voice-box. She didn't want to spend what time she had left like that. She was going to have the chemo (or maybe it was the radiation), but as I said before--she doesn't have insurance--so that was never really an option.

Wanda has told us many times that she is not afraid to die. She believes in God and it's okay if He's ready to call her home. What she is afraid of, however, is pain. She medicates like crazy to escape it and has asked us to "put her down" if it gets too bad.

When Alex and I decided to revisit our adventures, we thought about asking Wanda if she would like to come along with us. At first it was just a way for us to spend time together before the end. But then a thought occured to me. This would be a perfect opportunity to try to reverse the cancer growth. If she would give me just ninety days, I was certain I could do it.

She came for a visit last week, which was excellent timing. We had planned to leave on March 10th. I approached her with the idea and after a day of thought, she surprised me by agreeing to go and agreeing to follow my plan for her diet. We have an alternative cancer fighting plan that includes treatment via cancer fighting foods and supplements, plus stress reduction.
