We finally got on the road! It took us all morning to finish loading up, but we got it done. Joey loaned us two tents, so now we have four in all. We put a new alternator on the truck yesterday. It's running really good.
We had to stop down the road and collect some bamboo for Alex. I'd promised him we would do that before we left and as usual, I waited until the very last minute.
We were only planning on staying one night at our brother Wayne's, but Wanda wanted to stay two, so we planned for that. Visiting there is so relaxing. There's plenty of wide open space with no traffic and she loves sunning by the pool.
Our sister-in-law Linda made some Wanda friendly meals that were just awesome. I especially liked her salads. Wanda is a real meat lover though, and couldn't quit talking about big juicy steaks. I found out too late that everyone thought she couldn't have steaks. When I let them know that she could have steak every now and then, Linda's brother, Jake, said he would have cooked her the best steak she'd ever had.
March 18 2009 - We ended up staying a third night so Jake could prepare Wanda's best steak. I'm not a steak lover, but Jake knows how to cook a steak! Wanda was in steak heaven and even I liked it. He had cooked mine well done and it was still juicy and flavorful.

Wayne checked the truck for me. He said I wouldn't be getting far if I didn't check my fluids. I was almost out of power steering fluid and I needed to add oil. I had drained a little too much out. Other than that, everything was good.
