Alex and I both fell in love with this little town. It was classic Louisiana, right down to the plantation style homes on one street. The park was really nice, the river and houses were so beautiful, and the people were great.
I wish this could've been around when I was homeschooling. For the first time in my life, I'm not worried about how I'll earn an income. I’m not here to convince you to check it out, but I want to share that this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that might disappear early next year (2025). Below, you’ll find a few of the products that I create videos for, earning a commission each time someone buys from my video. If you want to make more money than you ever dreamed, head over to TikTok and explore the TikTok Shop for Creators (it is 100% free). This is my way of giving back. I want everyone who needs a miracle like this to know about it!
We traveled down 204 and then 84 to Logansport. At one point, the highway was so beautiful, I could barely contain myself. The road was dark black; the lines painted bright yellow. The trees overshadowed the road and were spaced just right so that the sun's rays could shine through. The perfect combination of light and shade brought out the brilliant color of everything and made me feel like I was driving through someone's painting.
I told Alex I could drive like this for days and I bugged him over and over to look at the road. He thought it was great, too, but he really just wanted to read his book.
Logansport was on the Louisiana side of the Sabine River and the minute we drove over the bridge, I felt like I was home again. I had lived in Louisiana for almost twenty years and there's no place I've ever liked more.
Our first stop was the city park. It was just to the left of the bridge. This would be the first time we could let the cats out. We drove into the parking lot and I got out and opened one of the back windows. Elrond and Haldir started exploring right away, but Galadriel and her baby stayed right by the truck until it was almost time to leave.
There was a big flowing fountain that Haldir drove himself crazy with. He likes to drink running water from fountains, but this one kept splashing him before he could get close enough. He never did get a drink from it, but he got pretty wet trying.
We drove up and down a few of the streets. It was classic Louisiana, right down to the plantation style homes on one street. There wasn't much to Main Street and most of the businesses were closed for the evening. We drove down to a truck stop diner and went in to eat.
The atmosphere in the diner was what you would expect in a small town. Everyone was very friendly. We struck up a conversation with old man Charlie, a regular who knew a little something about everyone. He was pleasant enough to us, but he didn't seem to like the girl who brought him coffee. After he left, she told us he never pays for his coffee and they were going to have to ban him eventually.
Alex and I both fell in love with this little town. The park was really nice, the river and houses were so beautiful, and the people were great. We wanted to stay overnight, but were told the closest motel was in Mansfield, so we got back on the road.
