The watermelon plants are thinned out and flopped over. I think the first one to come up, which was also the biggest, is gone. The garden is now not only ugly, but extremely sad looking.

June 11 - We had a nasty storm last night and my side garden is flooded. The plants are just babies. I hope they can survive.

June 13 - The water has gone down and it appears one cantaloupe plant has sprouted. The watermelon plants are thinned out and flopped over. I think the first one to come up, which was also the biggest, is gone. The garden is now not only ugly, but extremely sad looking. It was covered in this very fine straw type stuff. I cleaned it up some, but it's still very wet and delicate. I'm glad the back garden faired better. I don't know if the side one can recover.
